Re-Vegetation Services
To meet Governmental Requirements
For Erosion Control
For Timber Production
For Aesthetics
There are a variety of reasons why a Property Owner might want to add native vegetation to their property. Several names are used for this--re-vegetation, reclamation, restoration, re-forestation, etc.--and the trees and shrubs required varies widely (see lists below). NurseryTrees.com can usually provide both the trees/shrubs necessary and the planting services. Some examples:
Governmental Requirements
Commercial & residential building permits and Governmental projects may include re-vegetation requirements--shrubs and trees planted to restore the area to native vegetation or for erosion control. Another situation is where a Property Owner is required to restore an area where they have removed native vegetation in violation of land use regulations. The requirements under a government-ordered restoration can vary. Sometimes the property owner is required add a number of trees with a certain "caliper" ("caliper" usually means the diameter of the trunk a few inches above ground level, although sometimes governmental caliper definitions can vary--some use "chest height"). At other times, a permit will require a specific number of smaller trees or shrubs of a certain height according to a plan. We can help you either way. Also, we'd be happy to talk with the governmental representative you are working with to be sure that any requirements are met--we have experience in this area and know what has been acceptable in the past.
If you have such a project, please contact us. We will review the plant list, discuss planting methods, and send you a no-obligation Price Quote. Delivery & Planting Available; Free Estimates: info@NurseryTrees.com or (425) 343-2650.
Erosion Control
Re-vegetation is a well-recognized form of erosion control. Foliage soaks up water, while roots help to retain and stabilize the soil.
"When properly installed and maintained, vegetation can protect slopes by reducing erosion, strengthening soil, and inhibiting landslides which increases general slope stability. The use of vegetation to manage erosion and protect slopes is relatively inexpensive, does not require heavy machinery on the slope, establishes wildlife habitat, and can improve the aesthetic quality of the property."

Please contact us and let us know what you are looking for--the type of tree/shrub, the size you need, and the quantity you're looking for: Delivery & Planting Available; Free Estimates: info@NurseryTrees.com or (425) 343-2650.
Timber Production
Washington State, of course, is a major timber producer. A property owner can re-forest their property both to produce future revenue and to obtain major reductions of their property taxes. Trees planted are typically Douglas Fir and Western Red Cedar. Contact your county government for the property tax information; let us know what you are trying to accomplish and we'll help you obtain and plant the trees. Delivery & Planting Available; Free Estimates: info@NurseryTrees.com or (425) 343-2650.
Aesthetics
Finally, some people just want to add trees to their property to make it more beautiful. We do this all the time with our "regular" landscaping services, of course, but there is a class of aesthetic planting that is closer to re-vegetation or re-forestation. Some examples: hundreds of small Western Red Cedars planted to "reclaim" a pasture back to a forest, dozens of vine maple planted to add spring and fall color to a wooded area. The possibilities are endless; please contact us to start the discussion. Delivery & Planting Available; Free Estimates: info@NurseryTrees.com or (425) 343-2650.
Trees & Shrubs
You may find the tree(s) you are looking for on the alphabetical list of trees we carry. Common trees for restoration are Douglas Fir, Western Red Cedar, and Vine Maple, but we've seen several others used. Please also see our "Starter Tree" webpage for both native and non-native starter trees.
If you don't find what you are looking for there, we can also find trees/shrubs from wholesale growers that we work with. Some examples (taken from King County's Native Plant List):

Most important of all is what our customers think of us:
"I am really pleased with your work. You saved me several thousand dollars, steered me away from trees that wouldn't work, provided healthy and beautiful trees, did a great job planting them, and did everything on time and on schedule. You can quote me." Jo, Vashon Island
"Our privacy bank of trees has done nothing but grow well into maturity. Our back yard and deck area is totally private and the 10 trees your team planted [in 2005] are rich, leathery and dark green. We remark on them every day it seems. Please include me in any of your "Testimonials" as you would be hard pressed to find a more satisfied customer." Jim, Port Orchard
"For quality vs. value, your trees are the best landscape purchase I’ve ever made." Jeff, Seattle
"I work in customer service so I know good service when I experience it and you have my top rating. I would definitely recommend you to anyone who needs new landscaping. Thanks again.” Carol, Camano Island
"By the way, the trees were a great privacy feature when we sold the last house! We now have a much larger space . . . " Katherine, Fall City
“My compliments to your crew. We’ve had a lot of contractors working on our house recently and we’ve seen the entire range; and your guys were excellent. The trees make things look so much better—I started smiling as soon as I saw them going in." Holly, Queen Anne
"You guys are the best nursery I've ever done business with! And I have dealt with a few. You did what you said you would, on time with attention to detail rarely found. From the beginning of the quote process all the way through to the last detail you made it easy. And you work to ensure that the trees will thrive after planting with detailed advice, a complementary irrigation system, and a website filled with useful information. Most nurseries will just dump off the goods and tell you best of luck, put some water on them. You provide a quality product that sets you apart. Your crew was friendly, polite and operated as a well organized team. I would recommend you without hesitation! Thanks for doing a great job!” Ryan, Buckley
"We can not believe how beautiful your trees are. The privacy is unbelievable. If you ever need a testimonial let us know. Our yard is perfect! We sit there and say "my oh my”! Suzanne, Tacoma
"I don't think I've ever been as happy with something I've purchased." Sarah, Sammamish
