Large Douglas Fir approx. 15' tall

The Douglas Fir is the "signature" tree of the Pacific Northwest. Grown for both lumber production and landscape beauty, these trees are great for a natural, more-rural barrier, or a stand-alone tree.

ATTRIBUTES

Foliage: Evergreen

Mature Height: 70-100 ft.

Mature Width: To 60 ft.

Sunlight: Full sun, partial sun.

Soil:. Thrives in acid soil, alkaline soil.

Growth Rate: Medium, 1-3' a year once established, depending on growing conditions.

"Instant Privacy" Use: Natural barrier in a rural setting. Avoid power lines, plan for growth.

"Instant Privacy" Spacing: Because these trees are used for a "natural" look, they usually aren't planted in a straight row, but instead are "offset" in two or more rows, sometimes with uneven spacing to make the look as natural as possible. Spacing between individual trees should be at least 12' (which is quite tight), and often is 20' or more.

Comments: A classic Northwest barrier. Low maintenance.

6-7' Douglas Fir. These have been grown using a "partial Christmas Tree" shear,

making them thicker and bushier than the typical tree.

Most of our trees are so large that people usually hire us to also deliver and install them. When we install trees we include a one year Warranty for no additional charge. For plantings involving several trees we usually include a Watering System and a Starter Kit (sprayer and root enhancer), also for no additional charge.
